MEET THE CARIBEAN WHALESHARK
Discover the incredible Mexican Caribbean Sea and encounter the world’s largest fish. This gentle giant, the whale shark, offers a harmless and gentle presence. Witness the world’s most significant whale shark migration, often accompanied by manta rays feeding on plankton. An unforgettable experience for the whole family to share.
Certified freedivers can swim alongside these giants, utilizing their skills for an exceptional adventure instead of a life jacket!
Our excursion includes an introduction to whale sharks, their behavior, and guidelines for respectful encounters with this endangered species.
*Please note that there is no guarantee to find the wildlife but we will do everything possible to make it happen.
SCHEDULE
5h45: Meeting
Meeting at 5h45 at the dive center. One hour drive to the harbor of Punta Sam in Cancun.
7h00: Detailed Briefing
Before going on the boat we will make a detailed briefing about the day, how to behave with the animals and some security points.
7h15: Boarding on the boat
At 7h15 we will board the boat and head to the whale sharks area, it takes about one hour to arrives to the interesting area.
8h00: Underwater Encounters
After locating the whale sharks, we will dive three times in groups of a maximum of two people with the guide.
14h30 – 16h00: Ceviche in Isla Mujeres and return to Playa del Carmen
Afterwards, around 2:30 PM, we will head to a beach in Isla Mujeres to have some ceviche and take a dip in the island’s crystal-clear waters.

Note:
Mandatory to be a good swimmer to enjoy the experience.
•Bring sun protection (cap, glasses, long sleeves tee shirt and a windbreaker).
No Sunscreens.
•There is water, sodas and some small sandwich on board but feel free to
bring extra food if you want.
•Let us know if you need equipment (mask, snorkel, fins and wetsuit).
•Tips will be appreciate for the boat crew.

Note that we will confirm the activity a few days before once we are sure that there is good weather and enough whalesharks for an ethical encounter with the whalesharks.
If we go and we realize that there is not enough shark for the amount of boat, it is possible that we will have to limit the tour to whalesharks watching. (Reglementations for 2023).
